2026 IDPQC Summit - Event Recording and Materials Available!

The Idaho Perinatal Quality Collaborative wants to extend a huge thank you to everyone that attended and contributed to the 2026 IDQPC Annual Summit! This was our third statewide perinatal improvement summit, organized and promoted in conjunction with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's Maternal & Child Health department and Comagine Health, and we were thrilled to showcase the following presentations.

IDPQC Concludes Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy Initiative

IDPQC has wrapped up its year-long implementation of the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy Patient Safety Bundle. Launched on Oct. 1, 2025, the initiative brought together 15 Idaho birthing facilities, representing more than half of the state’s birthing hospitals, to improve the recognition and timely treatment of severe hypertension during pregnancy and the postpartum period. 

 

Over the past year, participating teams engaged in a variety of quality improvement efforts, including implementing protocols for timely treatment of severe blood pressure, strengthening patient education on warning signs and sharing lessons learned through monthly collaborative calls. Resources and best practices to support this initiative were compiled into toolkits designed for all roles and settings that support patients throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period in the state of Idaho. The initiative held its final collaborative call on Oct. 7, with a focus on sustaining these improvements after the formal initiative ends.  The work doesn’t stop here. IDPQC will share a final data and impact report with participating hospitals in late 2026, once the final quarter of data is in. Teams will also reconnect for sustainability check-ins in January and April 2027.
