About AIM Programs
The Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) is a national, data-driven maternal safety and quality improvement initiative. AIM works to reduce preventable maternal mortality and severe morbidity across the United States via evidence-based safety and quality improvement strategies. AIM provides tools, technical assistance, and data support to states seeking to improve birth outcomes. Perinatal Quality Collaboratives like the IDPQC implement AIM tools that meet the needs of their communities.
AIM Bundles
The cornerstone of AIM's offerings are their Patient Safety Bundles. The bundles are sets of evidence-based interventions that combine medical best practices and improvement science to achieve better maternal care and patient outcomes. They provide a roadmap for improving outcomes including resources for training development, collection and analysis of data, and help setting policies for standardized care across birthing facilities. They are also designed to adapt to a variety of facilities and resource levels, from large urban hospitals to rural, critical access facilities and even community birth centers.
AIM BUNDLES INCLUDE:
- Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy
- Obstetric Hemorrhage
- Postpartum Discharge Transition
- Caring for Pregnant and Postpartum People with Substance Use Disorder
SEVERE HYPERTENSION IN PREGNANCY BUNDLE
